Prepare Sage CRM On-Demand For Riva Cloud Corporate

  • Updated
A new Riva connection to this CRM is no longer configurable in the Riva Cloud UI. For a new Riva connection, contact the Riva Success Team.

An existing Riva connection with this CRM is still available for editing on the Dashboard.

Riva Cloud Corporate requires a connection to the Sage CRM On-Demand using an admin-level account that can impersonate target CRM user accounts. Riva Cloud supports customers with public internet access who use:

  • Office 365 Exchange Online.

  • Exchange Web Services (EWS) 2019, 2016, 2013, 2010, or 2007 on-premises or hosted. (Riva Cloud is unavailable for customers with on-premises or hosted Exchange 2003 user accounts.)

  • Internet-accessible login to their CRM account.

These instructions are specific to preparing for Riva Cloud Corporate CRM connections to Sage CRM On-Demand.

The following preparations must be completed:

  1. Prepare a Riva connection account in Sage CRM On-Demand.
  2. Prepare the target user accounts in Sage CRM On-Demand.

Step 1: Prepare a Riva connection account in Sage CRM On-Demand

The Riva connection to the target CRM must be configured to use the credentials of an administrator-level account. For Sage CRM On-Demand, choose one of the following options:

  • use an existing account assigned to the "Administrator" role, or
  • create an account in Sage CRM for Riva, for example, Riva or rivasvc, and assign it to the "Administrator" role.

Enable Web Services

The "administrator" account provides the privileges necessary to impersonate each target user and make the necessary changes to records in the CRM for each target user. This connection account must be enabled for web services in Sage CRM.

Assign the Default Territory

New records created by Riva in Sage CRM will be defaulted to the home territory of the Riva connection account. To control the default territory of new records, set the home territory of the Riva connection account user to the desired default territory.

If Riva needs to sync users from multiple territories, configure a separate Riva connection account for each default territory.

Step 2: Prepare the Target User Accounts in Sage CRM On-Demand

The primary email address for each target CRM user account must match the primary SMTP email address of the corresponding email system account (Exchange or GroupWise). For example: If the Sage CRM email address for Ian Sample is imsample@mycompany.com, then the Exchange SMTP Reply-to email address value for the corresponding email account must also be imsample@mycompany.com.
