Riva Booking Tags are user-defined labels that you can apply to bookings within the Riva portal. Tags are visual markers or filters that make it simple to quickly identify, group, and sort your bookings based on specific criteria.
How to add Booking Tags
The tag field is now available when creating or editing the following specific types of booking links:
- Availability links
- Single Use links
- Round Robin links
Tag Rules
One Tag Per Booking: The system currently allows for one tag per booking card.
Use Pre-populated or Custom Tags:
Pre-populated Tags are a list of commonly used labels that promote consistency across teams and save you time.
You can also create custom tags to suit any specific needs.
Note: Custom tags are not saved for future use at this time. Users will need to create a new custom tag each time they generate a booking link.
Viewing Tags on a Booking Card
Applied tag can be viewed from on the booking card. This provides you with an instant, quick visual reference for the purpose or category of the booking.

Best Practices
Prioritize Pre-populated Tags- Using the existing list helps prevent misspellings and ensures consistency among all team members.
Create Custom Tags Sparingly - Reserve custom tags for truly unique needs. Having too many unique tags can make filtering and reporting difficult
Keep Tags Concise - Use short, descriptive labels (e.g., "Onboarding", "Review") for better visual clarity on the booking card.
