Applies to: Riva Sales Engagement with Microsoft 365 connections

Microsoft is transitioning Exchange Online from Exchange Web Services (EWS) to Microsoft Graph. If your Riva Sales Engagement instance is eligible, you can migrate your existing Microsoft 365 connection directly from the Riva portal.

The migration updates the connection to use the Modern Microsoft Exchange Connector (Graph). Your existing connection remains unchanged unless Microsoft admin consent is completed successfully.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, confirm that:

  • You are an admin in the Riva portal.
  • Your Riva portal instance has an existing Microsoft 365 connection that uses EWS.
  • A Modern Microsoft Exchange Connector (Graph) app is available for your Riva instance.
  • You have Microsoft admin access to grant tenant-wide admin consent for the requested permissions.

Note: This migration is available only for eligible Microsoft 365 instances. It is not available for Exchange on-premises connections.

Migrate Your Connection

  1. Sign in to the Riva portal as an admin.
  2. Go to Settings > Connections.
  3. Under your existing Microsoft 365 connection, locate the Migrate to Graph API card.

  4. Select Migrate to Graph API.

The button shows a spinner and is disabled while the request is being processed.

  5. In the Microsoft sign-in window, sign in with an admin account if prompted. Review and accept the requested permissions to grant admin consent for your organization.

  6. Confirm the migration was successful. A success message appears, and the migration card is removed. Your instance is now connected through the Modern Microsoft Exchange Connector (Graph).

Troubleshooting the Migration

If you close or cancel the Microsoft consent window, or if Microsoft cannot complete consent, Riva displays an error message. Your connection remains on EWS and the Migrate to Graph API button becomes available again. Select it to retry the migration.

When the Migration Card Is Not Available

The migration card does not appear when:

  • Your instance already uses Microsoft Graph.
  • Your connection uses Exchange on-premises.
  • A Modern Microsoft Exchange Connector (Graph) app is not configured for your instance.

If you expected to see the migration card, contact your Riva administrator or Riva Support Team.
