Riva has options to limit the number of created Cases or Opportunities to the number specified.
It is also possible to limit the number of AssignTo folders displayed in Outlook; this is independent of the limit for synced Cases or Opportunities discussed here. For example, you can set a maximum count of 50 open synced Opportunities and also set a maximum number of 5 AssignTo Opportunity folders in Outlook.

Apply the following advanced option(s) to the CRM connection:
Crm.MaxCount.FolderRecords.Case = ###
Crm.MaxCount.FolderRecords.Opportunity = ###
where ### is an integer value that specifies the maximum number of open Cases or Opportunities created in Outlook.
