Change the User Login Password
The Riva Cloud admin account can reset a password for a target user. The reset password is not emailed to the target user.
Tip: Changing the password in this manner is the way to prevent users from accessing their Riva Cloud accounts while leaving the users enabled.
To change a user login password:
-
In the Password field, enter a secure password or select Generate.
-
in the Confirm Password field, enter the same password as in the Password field.
-
At the bottom of the window, select Save.
Enable or Disable a User Account
Disabled users cannot log in to their Riva Cloud accounts, and their sync policies are disabled.
You can temporarily disable or re-enable user accounts in two ways:
To enable or disable one user account at a time:
-
Do one of the following:
- To enable the user account, select the Enable User Account check box; or
- To disable the user account, clear the check box.
-
At the bottom of the page, select Save to update the target user account.
The User Manager displays to the right of the disabled target user account.
To enable or disable multiple user accounts at a time:
-
In the User Manager, select the checkboxes to the left of the users that you want to enable or disable.
-
Select the With Selected drop-down menu, and choose Enable User or Disable User.
Note: The red squares indicate that the users are enabled. When a user is disabled, the square becomes dark grey.
The User Manager displays to the right of disabled target users.
Unlock a Locked User
To prevent brute force attacks against your Riva Cloud account, a user is locked out after eight failed login attempts in a row. After verifying that it was really one of your users who failed to log in, you can unlock the user.
To unlock a locked user:
-
Near the top right corner of the window, clear this check box: Locked by Intrusion Detection.
-
Select Save.
Result: The user is immediately allowed to attempt to log in.
Change User Account Details
The Riva Cloud admin can modify the first name, last name, country, time zone, user type, and email address of a target user.
To change user account details:
-
Modify one or more detail fields.
-
At the bottom of the window, select Save to update the target user.
