Possible Issue
By default, Google creates a contact for every email sent to someone new and places it under the Other Contacts label. If Riva's Sync All New option is enabled for contacts, Riva creates all such contacts in the CRM — but some may be quite irrelevant for the CRM.
Possible Solutions
-
Edit the Riva sync policy to require a group for contacts. This restricts Riva to sync only contacts that have been assigned to a specified group, for example, Salesforce, SugarCRM, or NetSuite. (See Require Group in Riva Cloud or in Riva On-Premise.)
-
Edit the sync policy to sync contacts only from the CRM to the mailbox. (See CRM to Google Only in Riva Cloud or in Riva On-Premise.)
-
Disable Gmail's feature that adds new contacts to the Other Contacts label by default.
To disable Gmail's feature that adds new contacts to the Other Contacts label by default:
-
Log in to Gmail.
-
In the top right corner, select the gear icon, and select Settings.
-
On the General tab, scroll down to Create contacts for auto-complete, and select I'll add contacts myself.
-
At the bottom, select Save Changes.
When you send a message to a new person, Gmail does not add a contact to the Other Contacts label.
