For current Riva On-Premise installations that use Salesforce Single Sign-On, administrators are encouraged to upgrade their Riva for Salesforce connection setup to the Standard Impersonation Model. For assistance, contact the Riva Success Team.
The procedures in the following article have been deprecated. The information is being retained for clients who have not yet converted to the new Standard Impersonation Model.
Default Method for Deploying Riva for Salesforce
Riva for Salesforce has been re-designed to now use "Standard Impersonation" which is an improvement over impersonation using Single Sign-On. With Standard Impersonation, Riva for Salesforce:
- now supports Exchange 2010, 2007, and 2003 (both EWS and MAPI connections),
- does not require the Salesforce SSO Feature so deployment can be completed in a single day, and
- is easier to deploy and manage.
What happened to Single Sign-On?
Actually, nothing. It is no longer the default impersonation method, but it is still supported for customers who have deployed Riva for Salesforce using SSO. To learn more, refer to "Options for Deploying Riva Server for Salesforce and Exchange".
This checklist can still be used for Riva deployment that needs to use the Salesforce Single Sign-On Feature.
This method of deploying Riva is used to sync to one or more Salesforce.com target users by enabling Salesforce Single Sign-on (SSO) through a hosted Riva SSO Provider service. This type of deployment is used to support Salesforce SSO for Exchange 2010 and Exchange 2007 including Office 365 Exchange Online and commercially hosted Exchange service providers.. The target user Exchange accounts will be accessed using a single Exchange connection that can impersonate the target user mailboxes.

Manage SSO-Enabled Target Users
