GoldMine: Sync Additional Contacts

  • Updated

By default, Riva syncs multiple contacts assigned to an appointment as attendees to the calendar item that Riva creates in Exchange/Outlook. For GoldMine, Riva syncs "additional" contacts for appointments as attendees to the corresponding Exchange/Outlook appointment.

Riva can be configured to control if and how supplemental contacts are synced by Riva to the user's Exchange address book.

Sync additional contacts to the user's Riva-synced contacts folder in Outlook

  1. Start the Riva Manager application.

  2. On the menu bar, select Policies.

  3. In the right pane, double-click the GoldMine connection to edit it.

  4. On the Others page, ensure that the Sync Additional Contacts check box is selected. (It is selected by default.)

Results: Riva syncs additional contacts to the user's Riva-synced contacts folder in their Exchange address book based on the following filter conditions:

    • If the sync policy address book contacts filter is set to sync by All Visible, Riva adds new contacts to the user's Exchange address book.
    • If the sync policy address book contacts filter is set to sync by Must be owner, Riva adds only new contacts that are owned by the user to the user's Exchange address book.
    • If organic contact filters are enabled, Riva adds new contacts to the user's Exchange address book.

Stop normally syncing additional contacts to the user's Riva-synced contacts folder in Exchange

  • Ensure that the Sync Additional Contacts check box is cleared.

    Results:

    • Riva will not normally sync supplemental contacts to the user's Exchange address book.
    • If organic contact filters are enabled, Riva adds new contacts to the user's Exchange address book.

Applies to

  • Riva 2.4.34 or higher for GoldMine and Exchange.
