Fix For Riva Error "The Application Failed to Initialize Properly (0xc0000135)"

Issue

On occasion, Riva generates a Windows critical error that indicates the Riva.exe file:

"The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135)"

Cause

The .NET Framework is not installed.

To confirm that finding, see Determine which .NET Framework versions are installed.

Solution

  1. Use Windows Task Manager to ensure that Riva.exe and/or RivaApp.exe are not running as a process.

  2. Install the required .NET Framework version.
