New! Support for CRM Email Folders with Modern Microsoft Exchange Connector (Graph)

Riva now leverages Modern Microsoft Exchange Connector (Graph) to support email synchronization for Cases, Contracts, Projects, and Quotes. This update enables users to create and manage these CRM records directly from their mailbox using specialized drop folders.

  • Availability: Depending on customer configuration, new drop folders for Cases, Contracts, Projects, and Quotes are now visible in the inbox.
  • Automated Record Creation: Moving an email into a "Create New" folder automatically generates the corresponding record in the CRM.
  • AssignTo Folder Support: Users can now utilize AssignTo subfolders via Graph, with full support for add, view, edit and remove action to archive emails against specific CRM records.
  • Seamless Processing: Riva syncs the data, returns the email to the Inbox or Sent Items, and applies the "Processing Complete!" category once finished.

New! Enhancement Suite for Modern Microsoft Exchange Connector (Graph)

Riva has expanded its Microsoft Graph integration with several advanced features and administrative controls to ensure parity with existing protocols and improved synchronization flexibility.

  1. Outlook Item Attachment Control: A new configuration key allows administrators to enable or disable the synchronization of embedded items (emails, appointments, and contacts).

  2. Granular Trace Logging: Introduced trace flag controls for Graph API requests and responses to match existing EWS troubleshooting capabilities.

  3. Unmatched Attendee Retry: Appointments with attendees not yet found in the CRM are now flagged and automatically retried during subsequent re-init cycles.

  4. Enhanced Deletion Workflow: Riva can now cancel Outlook appointments rather than deleting them when the corresponding record is removed from the CRM.

  5. Regex Category Filtering: Administrators can now use Regular Expressions to define appointment sync categories, allowing for flexible pattern matching instead of exact strings.

  6. Regex Attachment Removal: Administrators can now use Regular Expressions to define which specific attachment types are permitted for removal during synchronization.

  7. Graph Address Caching: Riva now supports resolve-address caching for email connections. This improves calendar sync performance when processing attendees by reducing redundant lookups.

Salesforce Spring '26 Release

Riva now includes official support for Salesforce Spring'26 Release. Customers can continue to rely on seamless data synchronization while leveraging Salesforce’s newest platform improvements without interruption.

Enhancements

  1. Mailbox Folder Reinit: Riva now includes a new MigrateAndClearFolder re-initialization to remediate folder misconfigurations. This reinit moves items to a target destination folder, logs the total count, and safely deletes the empty folders while protecting system-standard folders like the Inbox or Root. This reinit allows administrators to safely manage and decommission folders at scale.
  2. Updated Branding & User Support Links for Error Notification Emails
    1. Error notification templates now align with the latest Riva brand standards.
    2. Support links have been updated to ensure inquiries are directed to the appropriate expert teams.

Bug Fixes

  1. Exchange Connection Testing: Riva fixed an issue where Exchange GetById tests failed with a "Folder doesn't exist" error. The connection test now skips folder initialization, allowing the test to succeed without manual configuration.
  2. Salesforce to Exchange Contact Matching: Riva resolved an issue where person accounts created in Salesforce would result in duplicate contacts in Exchange rather than matching existing records. The deduplication logic now correctly includes Middle Name and Suffix fields for Graph objects to ensure precise matching across all five criteria (First name, Middle name, Last name, Email, and Suffix).
  3. Exchange "File As" Synchronization: Riva resolved an issue where the File As field remained empty when syncing Salesforce Person Accounts to Exchange via Microsoft Graph. This fix ensures the field is correctly populated based on two newly supported configuration keys:
    • Sync.Ex.FileAsMapping: Defines the format for the File As field (Default: 2).

    • Sync.Crm.Contact.OverrideFileAsWithDisplayName: Allows the File As field to be overridden by the Display Name (Default: false).

Announcements

  • Riva has confirmed continued compatibility with MS Dynamics CRM following Microsoft’s announcement regarding the deprecation of Exchange Web Services (EWS) for On-premises version 8x (currently deprecated): January 1st, 2026.
