Microsoft Graph Error: AADSTS9002313 Invalid Request When Creating a Microsoft Modern Exchange Connector

Symptoms

When creating a Microsoft Modern Exchange Connector (Graph) connection in Riva Manager, the Microsoft sign-in window displays the following error during authentication:

AADSTS9002313: Invalid request. Request is malformed or invalid.

Cause

This error can occur when Request Admin Consent is selected in the Riva Manager connection wizard after Microsoft Entra admin consent has already been granted for the application.

Resolution

  1. Close the Microsoft sign-in window and return to the Microsoft Modern Exchange Connector (Graph) connection wizard in Riva Manager.

  2. Clear the Request Admin Consent checkbox.

  3. Continue through the wizard and test the connection.

Note: These steps apply when Microsoft Entra admin consent has already been granted for the application.
