Issue
In Riva Cloud or Riva On-Premise, Dynamics CRM versions supported by the latest Riva connection may experience the following error:
Challenge
Using multiple synchronization systems (in this case, the Microsoft Dynamics Outlook plug-in and Riva for Dynamics) to synchronize the same system often causes duplicate records.
To prevent errors and duplicates, by default, the 'Security Roles' assigned to each user are checked to automatically confirm if the user's Sync to Outlook privilege is enabled; if so, the privilege prevents data sync from occurring.

In some cases, disabling the 'Sync to Outlook' role is not an option (for example, the default Administrator Role). It is absolutely critical that the users currently being synchronized do NOT use the Outlook plug-in or any other synchronization solutions concurrently.

Adjusting the Dynamics CRM Security Role to disable 'Sync to Outlook'
The CRM administrator can modify the user's assigned Security Role to disable the "Sync to Outlook" privilege:

Log in to the CRM as an administrator.

Select Settings > Security Roles > Business Unit.

Select the affected user's security role.

In the Security Role window, select the Business Management tab.

Set the Sync to Outlook privilege to None Selected.

Save the changes.
After this is set, the CRM user's installed plug-in no longer has the "Sync to Outlook" capability, because Riva always takes over this role.
Disabling the Dynamics CRM Security Role check for 'Sync to Outlook'
To disable it for Riva Cloud:

If you do not have an advanced configuration role in Riva Cloud, contact the Riva Success Team.

If you have an advanced configuration role in Riva Cloud, do as follows:

On the , locate the Dynamics CRM icon, and select Edit.

Under Additional Options, clear the Check user privileges before sync check box.

Save the connection.
To disable it for Riva On-Premise:

Open the Riva Manager application. If your version of Riva has a horizontal menu bar, select Setup.

On the right pane, double-click the CRM connection for Dynamics 2011+.

In the window that appears, select the Options tab.

Clear the Check user privileges before sync check box.

Save the changes.
