Manage CRM Records From Riva Insight: End-User Guide

As a Riva Insight end-user, you can manage CRM records from Riva Insight:

To create a CRM record from Riva Insight in Outlook

The types of records that you can create from Riva Insight depend on the CRM you are using and what your company's Riva Insight admin has configured. The following procedure applies to any of the supported CRM record types.

To create a CRM contact, account, opportunity, lead, or task from Riva Insight:

  1. In Riva Insight, to the right of the Search field, click icon-(large)--Create-a-CRM-record.png and select ContactAccountOpportunityLead, or Task.

  2. In the Create page that appears, for example Create Opportunity, fill out the fields and click Create.

    Note: On the screen shot, the date is invalid — Feb. 31 — and an error message is displayed.

You can also create a CRM lead or contact from Riva Insight like this:

Whether you can create CRM leads or contacts from Riva Insight depends on the CRM you are using and what your company's Riva Insight admin has configured. The following procedure applies to both contacts and leads.

  1. In Outlook, select an email.

    If contact and/or lead creation from Riva Insight is enabled and one or more email addresses in the email do not match any contacts or leads in the CRM, Riva Insight displays something like this:

  2. If you want to create a contact or lead in the CRM, then next to the unmatched email address, click icon--Create-a-CRM-record.png.

  3. If a popup displays Create a Contact and Create a Lead, select Create a Contact or Create a Lead.

  4. In the Create Contact or Create a Lead page that appears, fill out the fields and click Create.

    Result: Riva Insight creates the contact or lead in the CRM.
     

To update a CRM record from Riva Insight

The types of CRM records that you can update from Riva Insight depend on the CRM you are using and what your company's Riva Insight admin has configured. The following procedure applies to any of the supported CRM record types.

To update a CRM record from Riva Insight:

  1. In Riva Insight, search for a contact, account, opportunity, lead, or task.

  2. Among the search results, select the item you want to update.

    Riva Insight displays the item in summary view.

  3. Depending on the Riva Insight configuration, in summary or detail view, next to the item's name, select pencil-icon-for-Quick-Edit-from-Riva-Insight.png.

  4. On the Update page that appears, make your changes and click Update.
