Deployment Checklist

This deployment checklist provides links to critical information for the various project teams to prepare and deploy a Riva On-Premise server, in order to sync data between HCL Notes and the supported CRMs.

A typical Riva On-Premise server deployment involves the following major steps:

Step 1: Prepare

The following articles can be provided to the customer teams involved in preparing to deploy a Riva On-Premise server:

  1. Prepare the host Windows server for Riva.
    Audience: Server and Infrastructure Team.

  2. Prepare HCL Notes for Riva.
    Audience: Messaging Team.

  3. Prepare test users for Riva evaluations.
    Audience: Project Team Lead and End-User Evaluation Team.

  4. Prepare your CRM for Riva.
    Audience: CRM Management Team.

Step 2: Install

Audience: Riva Administrator.

To install the Riva On-Premise server, set up connections, and license the server:

  1. Install the latest public release of the Riva server.

  2. Create and test the Riva Connection to HCL Notes.

  3. Create and test the Riva connection to your CRM.
    Note: Each CRM has unique and specific requirements.

  4. License the Riva server.

Step 3: Configure

Audience: Riva Administrator.

To configure Riva On-Premise for data sync:

  1. Create and configure a sync policy for HCL Notes.

  2. Install and configure the CRM Agent Service.

  3. (Optional.) Apply advanced and/or custom options.

Step 4: Enable

Audience: Riva Administrator.

To enable data sync, monitor sync between the CRM and user mailboxes, and troubleshoot typical sync issues:

  1. Enable the sync policy and monitor the initial sync of one or more target users.

  2. Resolve common Riva On-Premise sync issues.

Step 5: Evaluate

Audience: Evaluation Team.

Once the Riva server is syncing data, evaluate Riva to confirm if it meets sync requirements and to determine if any changes (including customizations) need to be made:
